In the name of the city council and city administration, I welcome you to this side and I am happy that you are interested in our beautiful and more that eight-hundred years old city.

In the history of Gardelegen the Garley-beer, the Hanse, the Roland, the button industry and Otto Reutter play a important roles.

Our city has gotten her own and interesting face.

Today, the 11.800 inhabitants are proud that the medieval brilliance is re-developing.

Also the magnificent nature with hiking-and footpaths, the cycle tracks and bridle-paths and also a wide range of cultural and leisure time offers make it possible to have a nice life in our city.
